We consider ourselves so fortunate to have had Nicole help our child with their speech. Our child was behind with pronouncing various sounds and we were not always able to understand what they were saying. Nicole’s expertise and ability to connect with our child allowed them to see remarkable progress and improvement. They worked hard and had lots of fun, too. Nicole was very thorough to explain to us what she and our child was working on each session, and ways we can continue working with our child leading up to the next session. Nicole is a treasure and we highly recommend Nicole to anyone looking for speech therapy.
We first met Danielle when we brought our daughter home following a traumatic, pre-mature birth, resulting in a 4 month NICU stay. Being “forced” to navigate the world of a medically compromised tiny person felt both terrifying and lonely. Neither my husband nor I were equipped with the knowledge, tools or confidence to support our daughter in the way she needed in order to thrive physically. Danielle however, reframed our fears with hope and provided us with the education, inspiration and fearlessness needed to advocate for our daughter in the way every child deserves. Danielle was and is emotionally invested in the success and well-being of those she serves and she will always be an extension of our family. Our daughter is now 5 years old, in Kindergarten and ambulating independently (we were told she might not ever walk). We credit Danielle for her being as determined and capable as she is, regardless of her stubbornness! If you have the opportunity to work with this bright, encouraging and wildly experienced OT, we suggest you jump at the chance. We will always be grateful for her gifts and you will be too!
Danielle was the OT for both of my boys starting each at age 2. I have worked with many therapists along our journey, and Danielle is at the very top. She is incredibly smart and intuitive, and understood my childrens’ unique needs very quickly. She offers creative, practical solutions, and methodically tackles each issue. Most importantly, I think one of Danielle’s true talents is building trusting partnerships with parents. She provides much-needed emotional support, yet isn’t afraid to push on issues she feels are important. She was my rock when I needed one the most, and she will always hold such a special place in my heart.
I have two children with an extremely rare genetic condition which affects them in many ways. They have short stature, fine motor delays, sensory processing challenges, executive functioning challenges , low muscle tone, and limited range of motion in their arms as well as lack of ligament support in their joints. The combination of low muscle tone and limited range of motion in their arms makes self care tasks extremely challenging and this is an area we have lacked progress on for years, regardless of what we tried and which therapies we sought. Ms. Jamie’s approach with both the children and our family that participated in therapy really set us up for success. She was able to create a unique plan for each of them that focuses on their daily challenges and not just where we wanted to see growth, but where the kids wanted to see growth. She was very flexible in her approach and could smoothly transition to try something else if sensory challenges were limiting progress or if the kid’s were no longer motivated by the task at hand. She was also such a huge resource for me, as their mother. I learned so much from her during our therapy sessions and she made sure I was comfortable with the plan for the week and knew how to coach them on my own. With such busy schedules, but so many things to work on, she came up with intentional and purposeful ways to implement the therapy, so it didn’t feel like we were setting aside time to do therapy, but instead we were working challenges and practice into things we do everyday anyways. Her approach really made us all successful and we continue to grow and be successful with what we learned today even without currently receiving therapy. My younger daughter is now dressing herself head to toe, toileting herself, opening her own lunch containers, brushing her hair, and has successfully overcome a serious aversion to new foods. Every time she succeeds she wants to me send a picture or message to Ms. Jamie to tell her all about it ☺ My older son is now able to help with household chores, can make his own meals, and has improved his executive functioning and taken more ownership of his daily assignments. We have seen A LOT of therapists and specialists and Ms. Jamie really is a gem! It’s apparent she really loves what she does and only wants the best for her patients and their families.
Our 9-year-old autistic son began care with Conquer Therapy in Spring 2021. Originally, we needed help to improve his handwriting. However, while consulting with Jamie on his handwriting we started talking about other issues. Through her experience in schools and therapy she was able to not only help him improve his handwriting but also help guide us in areas such as muscle building, posture, attention and food aversion. When we came up against any concerns we saw at home or school, Jamie was ready and willing to help us and seek out advice from others in the therapy community. She has also given us as parents the tools to help our son and reinforce the positive changes she has suggested. With Jamie as a part of our team we have seen amazing growth in our son and have confidence that whatever challenges we face she is there to help. Jamie and Conquer Therapy has become an irreplaceable part of our “team.”
